IRVINE, Calif. (July 3, 2019) – Students in Orange and Los Angeles Counties will return to school in the fall full of good Karma thanks to Southern California-based Karma Automotive’s donation of 1,000 backpacks to help support a back-to-school supply drive spearheaded by a local group of automotive enthusiasts.
The Purist Group’s Fourth Annual School and Backpack Drive benefits underprivileged and less fortunate children and families in Orange and Los Angeles Counties with the donation of backpacks filled with essential school supplies. On July 27, the Purist Group plans to deliver the gifts to the San Gabriel / Pomona Regional Center, an organization dedicated to serving children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the local Southern California area.
“Good deeds certainly create good Karma,” said Ivan Wang, Karma’s director of marketing and brand. “As a global company born and rooted in Southern California, Karma and The Purist Group are united in spirit when it comes to supporting our local communities and the families who live here.”
With the support of key sponsors like Karma, Purist Group hopes to deliver as many as 3,000 backpacks filled with supplies, according to Sean Lee, founder of the Purist Group, a collection of enthusiasts brought together by a shared interest in cars and motorcycles and dedicated building community through charity events and volunteer-based service.
“This is our fourth season hosting the school supply and backpack drive and every year we’ve not only accomplished our fundraising goals, but continued to increase participation and attendance,” Lee said. “With Karma’s support, we’re well on our way toward meeting our goal of helping those most in need return to school happier and with the confidence they need to succeed.”
